1. Robert Stewart 1 was born about 17492 and died in 1845 in Kentucky, USA3,4 about age 96.

General Notes: Robert is said to have moved from VA. to eastern Kentucky after 1785. Later he went to Warren Co., Kentucky here he was living on 15 Jan 1817, when he bought of Jesse ROGERS for $250.00, 100 acres of land on Buck Creek, a branch of Big Barren River. The witnesses to the deed were Daniel DOUGHTY and John HAYNES. This part of Warren Co. was later included in Barren County by a change in the boundary line. Robert bought, 5 Nov 1819, of Thomas DOBSON for $400.00, 86 1/2 acres on the east side of Big Barren River, adjoining Thomas OWEN and Lucy LeGRAND, the witnesses being Benjamin MARTIN, John MARTIN, and Nathan MARTIN. He sold 24 Nov 1836 to Jesse DALTON for $60.00, 30 acres on the waters of Buck Creek in Barren Co., it being a part of the tract on which STEWART was living; the witnesses to the deed were John BECKHAM and Jeremiah LUTTRELL. Robert and his wife, Patience sold 26 Jan 1838, to Abraham LEGRAND of Allen Co. for $400.00; the 86 1/2 acres on the east bank of Big Barren which they head bought in 1819 of Thomas DOBSON, witnesses to the deed being John H. OWEN. Thomas RITCHEY, and Obadia W. LeGRAND. Robert STEWART made his will 13 Sep 1841, with John MATIN, and Archer DICKERSON as witnesses, and it was probated at the April Term of Court, 1845, Barren Co. He named his wife Patience to be executrix and left her all his property. Patience STEWART sold, 14 Sep 1846, to Isham LEWIS, for $175.00, the 80 acre place on Buck Creek, which Robert had bought from Jesse ROGERS in 1817, the witnesses to her deed being Thomas S. Robert married Patience. Patience was born about 1749,2 died in Apr 1854 in Hutton Twp., Coles Co., Illinois, USA2,5 about age 105, and was buried in Stewart Family Cemetery, Hutton Twp., Coles Co., Illinois, USA.2,5

General Notes: After her husband's death, and being almost 90 years or more old, Patience STEWART rode horseback to Coles Co., IL, with her grandson, John STEWART. They brought with them on horseback, six dining room chairs, that were family heirlooms. Patience lived with her son William, dying at his home in Hutton Township at about age 105 years. One great-granddaughter was under the impression that Patience was 109 years old at her death. She was buried in the Stewart Family Cemetery, lacated in Section 35, T. 11 N., R. 10 E., on a bluff near the center of the section, in Hutton Township, Coles Co., IL.
